Keynote Speaker: Jacques Vallee
Software of Consciousness: Personal recollections from the RV program
A legendary computer scientist, trained astrophysicist, and highly respected investigator of unidentified aerial phenomena, Dr. Jacques Vallee unveils some of the computer-science roots of remote viewing. He tells of his role of consultant and advisor to SRI-International's human consciousness program, and his interactions with Hal Puthoff, Russell Targ, and particularly Ingo Swann through a long portion of the program's development. Along the way, he delves into some of the perplexities he sees as a scientist about the nature of time. Dr. Vallee also reveals a surprising trend he and his colleagues observed as they created Arpanet, the forerunner of the Internet. As computer scientists tried to cope with the relatively primitive computer communications processes then available, they noticed that what could only be described as psychic augmentation to the communications was filtering in to help the process along. Vallee also includes a fascinating description of a combined telepathic/remote viewing experiment done with Ingo Swann, Richard Bach (author of Bridge Across Forever and many other books), and others. During the question and answer period, Dr. Vallee answers questions about computers and consciousness, the watershed Comida UFO report, and certain other controversial UFO topics. ( Read more) |
Stephan Schwartz - Opening to the Infinite
In this often thought-provoking and always inspiring presentation, Stephan Schwartz explains this theme: That moments of genius, special epiphanies, great achievements of creativity, and certain aspects of remote viewing are all aspects of the same thing - nonlocal consciousness. But remote viewing is especially important because, unlike the others, it can be brought about under controlled circumstances. Remote viewing proposes to us that an aspect of human mentality exists independent of time and space. ( Read more) |
Nick Seferlis - Healing, Intuition and Remote Viewing
A counselor who employs cutting-edge psychotherapy to help clients in his private practice, Nick Seferlis engages the audience in participation throughout his presentation to show us his techniques for remote diagnosis and healing. He talks us through various guided visualization techniques to both direct attendees to find and join in treating the chronic pain of a volunteer subject named Doug, but also to help Sophie, another volunteer, to deal with and manage her unusual phobia. Marty Rosenblatt - ARV-Investment Club Approach Versus Independent Viewing
Is remote viewing just an interesting parlor trick, or is it valuable in the real world? Marty Rosenblatt answers this question by telling us about "applied precognition" - a special form of remote viewing known as ARV, or "associative remote viewing." He and other members of an investment club he has formed have correctly predicted changes in the stock market over 60% of the time, making money in the process. Mr. Rosenblatt explains how this is not only a valuable approach to making money, but a wonderful tool for personal growth as well. ( Read more) |
Pam Coronado - Remote Viewing Crime
The star of Discovery network's "Sensing Murder" program rejects the hocus-pocus, the flowing robes and turbans, and the tarot cards to give us the quick, down, and dirty on what it is really like to be a successful psychic detective. Pam's delightfully down-to-earth style lets the stories and details speak for themselves. She tells us how she learned the skills, the do's and the don'ts of forensic ESP: what to watch out for, principles to practice and apply, and she gives us juicy insights into a number of cases, both high profile and low, that she has successfully taken on (did you know, for example, that DC-sniper Lee Malvo spilled his guts when a suggestion she gave the FBI interrogator got Malvo talking about the movie "The Matrix"?). Jessica Utts - Arguing Towards the Truth: How Controversy Helps Science Progress
A brilliant scientist and outstanding teacher, Jessica Utts helps us understand the mistakes that can be made in remote viewing research, and how to avoid them. She starts off with a brief history and explanation of the Ganzfeld and remote viewing experimental formats, then engages listeners' interest through audience participation exercises and explanations that go right to the heart of problems with experiments, and solutions for them. Dick Allgire - HRVG Methodology: An Overview
A popular Hawaii television newscaster in his regular life, and the 2007 Remote Viewing Conference emcee, Dick Allgire gives us a fun and exciting look at the Hawaii Remote Viewing Guild, its history, and some of its personalities. His main focus, though, is a detailed walk-through of the HRVG remote viewing method, including actual examples of remote viewing sessions conducted by Guild members. Though he says up front his intent for the talk is not to teach anyone to remote view, his detailed explanation of the Guild's process is the next best thing. ( Read more) |
George McMullen - Remote Viewing Artifacts: Hands On Experience
With wry humor, octogenarian psychic archaeologist George McMullen presents interesting vignettes into his long career locating and identifying antiquities and artifacts from ancient civilizations. Some of these artifacts he even brings with him for attendees to handle and examine. He challenges them to try remote viewing the artifacts themselves. George McMullen is the author of One White Crow. ( Read more) |
Panel Discussion: A Remote Viewer's Code of Ethics
Ethics is definitely not a boring subject in this eclectic and far ranging discussion. From how remote viewing and ESP should be applied in police work, to the ethics of accessing other peoples secrets, a diversity of topics are considered, chewed on, debated, and generally held up for public scrutiny. From Lyn Buchanan's unusual definition of what ethics is, to Paul H. Smith's reasoned look from the perspective of one who teaches ethics at the university level, to signals intelligence expert Glenn Wheaton's views on eavesdropping, to Pam Coronado's experiences with murder cases, to Marty Rosenblatt's theoretical views, the exchange is lively, informative, and never dull. Courtney Brown - Remote Viewing and the Displaced-Target Phenomenon
Dr. Courtney Brown gives an entertaining and highly animated account of his theories behind how remote viewing works and how to overcome some of the more vexing problems getting in the way of remote viewing success. He gives an extensive account of what he thinks makes displacement happen (he tells us it is a telepathic link between viewer and tasker); based on his own experience, he offers suggestions on how to properly do public demonstration sessions; he explains the characteristics of good remote viewing targets versus bad ones, and wraps up with an explanation of SAM, a computer program designed to enhance the evaluation and management of remote viewing session results. Paul H. Smith - The Shotgun Wedding Between Dowsing and Remote Viewing
In the hunt for the Cold War bad guys -- the Middle East hostage takers, the narcotraffickers, the terrorist cells, the mobile enemy missile launchers -- remote viewing was often called upon as a last resort, when every other intelligence collection means had failed. Sometimes remote viewing helped, but often it didn't. That's because remote viewing allows someone to access a target with his or her mind, and verbally and with sketching describe the target, but usually can't give the actual location unless someone happens to recognize a landmark the remote viewer describes. To try to solve this problem, the remote viewers in the US military's Star Gate Program developed techniques for dowsing (finding the unknown location of a person, place, thing, or event, through the interaction of the dowser's subconscious with a rod or pendulum held in the dowser's hand.). In "The Shotgun Wedding Between Dowsing and Remote Viewing," Major Paul H. Smith (US Army, ret.) tells how dowsing was adopted and used, describes techniques, and shows examples gleaned from the CIA's archives of some of dowsing's amazing success stories.( Read more) |
Lyn Buchanan - The Setting of Standards
Lyn Buchanan digs into the heart of the "standards" issue. What counts as a remote viewer? How can we tell who really has credentials as a remote viewer and who doesn't? Is it possible to certify remote viewers and training companies? How do you manage to be credible to clients in the business world? Not all remote viewers will agree with everything he says, but he does pose important issues that will eventually have to be addressed by the remote viewing community. In the process he catalogs the classes his company, P>S>I> offers, and announces an organization he has founded to develop the professionalism of his graduating students. A very interesting treatment of problems with which the remote viewing community has struggled for years. ( Read more) |
Ed Dames - Case Studies in Applied Remote Viewing
As controversial as ever, Ed Dames calls 'em as he sees 'em in this invigorating display of chutzpah and charm. During the presentation Dames revisits many of his recent themes, including the search for Steve Fossett, hunting the nearly century-old wreckage of missing French aviators in New England, his view on the metaphysics of a remote viewing theory, his new "Geofix" program, why he failed at predicting the outcome of the Superbowl, and how he teaches students to use associative remote viewing to beat the odds in Las Vegas. In the extensive Q&A that follows, Dames touches on other of his trademark subjects, such as UFOs and the infamous "Killshot." You may love him, you may hate him - but you will certainly be entertained. (warning: some language inappropriate for children). ( Read more) |
